Obama Does It!

August 27, 2008 will go down as perhaps the happiest day, so far, in my political life. Barack Obama is now, officially, the nominee for the Democratic Party.

A huge thanks to Senator Hillary Clinton, who called for his nomination by acclamation.  Senator Clinton, I will work my fingers to the bone for you in 2016. You have rocked this convention, and I am deeply grateful.

Now, we need to work. Work like we’ve never worked before.

But just for a moment, let’s let it wonderously sink in. Wonderously. Happily. Joyfully. Tearfully. Sink in.
